Microsoft changed the default student Copilot experience
For eligible K–12 students whose districts already enabled Copilot Chat, Microsoft now preselects its Study and Learn agent. Administrative enabling and age controls still apply.
Cost, service, risk & adoption
Cost—uses existing Microsoft environments; Service—learning-oriented interaction rather than direct answers; Risk—defaults can change behavior without a district rollout decision; Adoption—review tenant settings, enabled populations, telemetry, and training.
